Teenage Parent Program (TAP)

Eligibility for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Teenage Parent Program includes pregnant students, parenting students, the children of parenting students and students who have completed the Teenage Parent Program course work. Both teenage fathers and teenage mothers are eligible for the program.

TAP is a voluntary program that requires enrollment each school year. Written parental consent is necessary for enrollment in the program. Students who participate in special education programs are required to have an Individualized Educational Plan review prior to enrollment.   Students are able to enroll or withdraw from the program at any time during the school year.  Proof of pregnancy or child’s birth certificate is required for enrollment. To enroll in the TAP program, the student and his or her parent must meet with the school’s TAP contact. The TAP contact will review the TAP program procedures, expectations and services with the student and his or her parent.
